mountain lion sculpt by jackaburl There is so much life and anticipation of movement in this sculpture. Very impressive- not to mention it's carved from a chainsaw! ( Featured by Brookette )

We are interested in purchasing something just like this.  We have a nice size landing in our rustic river house and are wanting something similar to put up there. Its a big landing.

hey thanks, we could call it a florida panther, they're a bit darker in the face, not bad for my first lion though, next one will be better.

I personally feel that the shading is too dark, especially around the folds of skin/muscles of the arms and legs. However, the way the sculpture is carved is so detailed and delicate in the right places, such as the face, neck and paws, and more gestural in others, creating a dynamic balance.  Nice work, but could be better in my opinion!

I don't even have words to describe how I felt when I saw this.... Stunning and amazing come quickly to my mind. Cougars are my totem animal and I have done jewelry sized carvings of them, but nothing like this. It is truly a beautiful piece. Every time I see carvings like this that are carved with a chainsaw, I am always blown away. To think that someone can get such details with a chainsaw is fascinating! I truly love this piece and greatly admire you are your talent.
